Nusa Penida is an island located in the south-eastern part of Bali, so to get here you must take a boat ride from mainland Bali. If you don’t know how, don’t worry–we’ve got you covered.
Two Harbors to Choose From
Boats that go to Nusa Penida docks at two harbors: Padang Bai (public boats), and Sanur Beach (speedboats). Each has a few ships you can choose from.
Padang Bai Harbor
If you want to bring a vehicle with you, you can catch the daily public ferry (large boat that includes vehicles). A passenger ticket is IDR 16.000 for one way. It is cheap, but it would take about 2 hours to get to Nusa Penida due to its weight. This ferry will dock at Toyapakeh, Nusa Penida.
There is also a daily public boat service that typically carries up to 20 people. You should be at the beach side by 6:30AM to catch the public speed boat. Buy ticket from ticket office near the beach for IDR 40.000 one way and then wait until it has enough passengers for the boat to depart.
